Pinoy wins ‘The Voice Kids Germany’

A 13-year-old Filipino-Austrian boy was named “The Voice Kids Germany” winner for 2016 on Friday.

Lukas Janisch performed Adele’s “When We Were Young” while playing the piano for his final song during the show’s finale.

All three coaches, as well as the audience, gave him a standing ovation for his performance.

He also got the same response during the Blind Auditions when he performed Alicia Keys’ song called “Fallin,” also behind the piano.

In the Blind Auditions, he was just less than 20 seconds into his song when coach Lena Meyer-Landrut immediately pressed the “I Want You” button. Coaches Mark Foster and Sasha followed suit.

He eventually picked Foster to be his coach.

His family—father, mother and little sister–accompanied him during his audition.

Aside from the piano, Janisch also recently started learning to play the guitar. According to “The Voice Kids Germany” website, Janisch’s favorite performer is Beyonce.

Janisch’s family lives in Fürstenfeld, Austria based on his mother’s Facebook page. His mother, Maricar, is said to be from Leyte, Philippines.
