Being thrifty is a good thing as long as you share with others. But being thrifty to the extent that you’ll be a tightwad and bring all your money in your grave is something interesting to know.
This is a short story about a husband and a wife that made a mark to the people.
As they were together, the husband worked so hard and saved all of his money. Her wife said that he was a total scrooge when it comes to money.
Before he passed away, he asked his wife to take all of his money and put it on his casket for he is going to take it all to the after life. He even made his wife promise to do his wish.
The wife was with her closest companion in the funeral service. Afterwhile, the wife said, “Wait a minute” before they close the coffin. She placed a shoebox in the casket. Right after the coffin was bolted and moved away.
A friend asked her if she really placed all of his husband’s money in the coffin and then she said, “Yes, I promised. I’m a good Christian, I can’t lie. I promised to him that I was to put that money in that casket with him.” Her friend asked her if she placed every cent of his money in his casket and then she replied, “I sure did, I got it all together, put it into my account and I wrote him a check.”
