Another achievement of a Filipino has been showcased around the world. This Filipino stole the limelight on the International Television show entitled, ‘Forged In Fire‘ which is being aired on History Channel Asia.
It is a reality show that aims to gather all the amazing weapon-makers in the world and have them battle over their craftsmanship. They were all challenged in making axes, daggers, swords and other weapons that is beingforged.
Ryu Lim stood out from the rest of the contestants. He had no formal lessons on blacksmithing. He got his skills from the exposure and observation.
At the age of 10, he was able to forge his own blade weapon.

“I was so deeply fascinated. I was hypnotized by the fire and completely taken by the whole process. The smell of the burning charcoal, the sparks flying up from the forge, the ringing of the anvil as the blacksmith struck the glowing steel that shot sparks out from underneath his hammer. I knew right then that this is something I wanted to do,” Ryu recalled.

He is also distinguished from the rest because of his lack of proper tools and shop where he could work at to do all the weapons.
